In the 1970s, Iwan Tirta started to introduce batik to interior design. But not until in the year 2000 onwards that his batik designs became
popular and used to add ambience in a room in the form of wall hangings. Batik has been reinvented to be more versatile to fit into today's lifestyle.
It is applicable for the garment or fashion industry, as well as the interior design industry.
Iwan Tirta was among the first to venture out into interior design by creating enlarged batik motif wall hangings.
Iwan Tirta Private Collection is also home to a series of batik paintings by Iwan Tirta, along with priceless examples of traditional wall hangings
from his personal collection.

Kupu Sakura Jawa Hokokai
Designed in multi colors, this batik Pekalongan is commonly known as batik Jawa Hokokai.
