The word ‘Sogan’ itself is derived from the Javanese word ‘Soga Tree’ which discovered in the use and application of multi-dyes for batik. The color is obtained from the bark of the soga tree to achieve the deep brown tone. It’s one of the natural batik dyeing techniques that utilizes materials found naturally in the local environment.
